As you may recall, I've been on a 19th century literature drive, and I was keen to read some Verne as part of that. My family adored 80 Days Around the World, and my middle son and I had a blast with 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas. He asked me to read him Journey to the Centre of the Earth next. I highly recommend 80 Days as a starting point for Verne, but if you cannot read it in French, please aim for the William Butcher translations in English (for any Verne book) - they make a huge difference!
Never read Verne. Maybe I'll get round to his work some day.
Hi Asa,
As you may recall, I've been on a 19th century literature drive, and I was keen to read some Verne as part of that.
Happy reading,
Chris.
I can read French, I just detest the language, so thanks for the translation recommendation.
