Dear friends,
Perhaps the greatest problem we face today is the corruption of discourse, and thus the collapse of both political debate and scientific process. For September, I am embarking upon a journey across the landscape of knowledge in an attempt to clarify why it no longer functions as a commons. The four waypoints on this expedition - Ivan Illich, Alasdair MacInytre, Isabelle Stengers, and Bruno Latour - have never been linked together like this as far as I’m aware. For me, this path reveals the past, present, and possible futures of human knowledge.
Stranger Voices
The door is always open for submissions from Stranger Travellers (paid or bartered subscribers) for Stranger Voices. I acknowledge it could be a while before someone fancies diving in, and I’m okay with that - I am happy to leave the door open. Follow the submission link on the main page for guidance…
Join the Stranger Travellers
…and the invitation is still open to join the ‘Stranger Twenty’, either by giving Substack your money, engaging in creative barter, or making an exchange of paid subscriptions with other regular Substack authors.
Comments to this post are open, so please let me know if you wish to discuss joining the Stranger Travellers through creative barter.
With unlimited love,
Chris.
