Dear friends,
Today is my birthday, but more excitingly Wednesday is the one year anniversary of the commencement of Stranger Worlds. What a twelvemonth its been (you can tell I’ve been reading 19th century literature recently)! Thanks to everyone who has joined me on this journey, and especially the Stranger Travellers for their companionship, discourse, and indeed for our disagreements. It has been an honour having you here.
The theme for this anniversary January is ‘New Ideas Rediscovered’. Each of the pieces offers a new perspective on old ideas - citizenship, knowledge, Church and State, computers, and finally conflict of interest. I’m especially pleased with how these reflections fit together as pieces in a greater puzzle, and I hope you’ll enjoy them too.

I am still seeking those with the will and time to engage in discourse on our wide and wondrous topics. You can become a Stranger Traveller by pledging your money, or I am equally open to ‘creative barter’ - whatever your art or craft in life, I’ll gladly accept it in trade for a paid subscription if you have the will for discourse.
Comments to this post are open, so please let me know if you wish to discuss joining the Stranger Travellers through creative barter.
Stranger Voices
And for those of you already among the Stranger Travellers, don’t forget to share any intriguing essays you’ve encountered for the quasi-monthly Bazaar.
With unlimited love,
Chris.
